The Sopwith 1B2 propeller is now finished. The decals (gold, blue and silver) were applied on it. As you can see, the propeller is an Eclair, built buy Bloch & Potez. The other decal stands for Tonkilaque, which is the trademark of the company that created this brown lacquer applied the propeller.

LVG : Avancement / Work in Progress

Let's see a few pictures of the progresses made on the LVG reproduction. In the cockpit, the altimeter corrections card was placed on the panel. An original bakelite electric socket, was casted and several accurate reproductions were made and installed in the cockpits. The step hatches are now installed. you can see how they can be opened (there is a spring holding the hatch closed). The rigging diagram is now placed on the left side of the fuselage.

LVG : Avancement / Work in Progress

--------------------------------------

It has been a while since our last update. As you can see there is a lot to say !

When the LVG was still upside down, the camera hatch was installed. You can see the specific wire system arrangement for opening/closing the hatch (operated from the observer's pit).
Now, the aircraft is back to a normal position. The glossy dark-red varnish has been completed. As you can see on those pictures, the varnish has a very different aspect from a different point of view. It explains why some black & white photos show some "clear skinned" LVG and others "very dark".
You can also see that the Morse key was added in the observer's pit.
The windscreen has been installed too. Be aware that, this windscreen is specific to the aircraft we are building and is, in fact, a field modification. The standard one was placed more forward.
Finally we have printed LVG logo decals. They are the exact copy of the original logo decals ! It is dark blue and gold, and much more complex than the common belief (it is often shown in light blue and yellow).
