I-153 : Compartiment moteur / Engine bay

Quelques premiers travaux ont commencés sur le I-153 avant le démontage moteur. Ces photos montrent en détail le compartiment moteur. Vous remarquerez que certains éléments sont manquants (comme les magnétos). Certains câbles et tuyauteries ont également été coupées. En effet, l'avion avait été probablement rendu inutilisable avant l’arrivée des allemands sur le terrain en Juin 1941.

Some work is being done on the I-153, before removing the engine. Those photos show some good details about the engine bay. You will note that some parts are missing (such as the magnetos) and some wires and pipes were cut. The aircraft was probably made unserviceable before the Germans arrived to the airfield in June 1941.

Meeting de la Ferté-Alais / Ferté-Alais airshow

Après 2 ans d'absence, Memorial Flight fait son retour au meeting annuel de la Ferté-Alais ce week end du 11 et 12 juin.
Les avions seront visibles sur le parking dans la matinée, et effectueront un vol de présentation dans l’après-midi si la météo le permet.
C'est donc une occasion à ne pas manquer !

After 2 years, Memorial flight is coming back to the annual airshow of la Ferté-Alais this week end on June 11 and 12.
The aircrafts will be displayed in the aircraft park, and should fly in the afternoon depending on the weather.
An opportunity not to miss !

Sop 1B2 : Haubanage final / Final rigging

Dernière étape pour le Sopwith Strutter : les ailes sont montées afin de terminer les câbles d'haubanage. Vous pouvez désormais remarquer le camouflage particulier peint sur l'intrados des ailes. Il fut utilise pendant la première guerre mondiale sur plusieurs avions de l'escadrille Sop 66.

One final step for the Sopwith Strutter : the wings are now installed on the airframe to finish the rigging. You can now see the specific camouflage painted on the wings lower surfaces. It was used on some Strutters of the escadrille Sop 66 during WW1.

LVG : Avancement / Work in Progress

La première aile haute du LVG est en cours de fabrication. Les nervures collées, il faut désormais préparer les cordes à piano qui relient les différentes ferrures de l'aile.
On peut déjà apercevoir un décrochement au niveau du bord de fuite, correspondant a l'emplacement de l'aileron.

The first top wing for the LVG is being assembled. The ribs are now glued and the piano wire have to be adjusted to link all the wing brackets. If you look carefully at the trailing edge, you can see the aileron position.

LVG : Détails cockpit/Cockpit details

Comme vous pouvez le voir, la pompe à main a été montée. Vous pouvez maintenant observer le circuit d'essence finalisé. La dernière étape sera le montage de la mitrailleuse Spandau.
Les premières photos montrent le cockpit sans le siège du pilote. Les autres montrent le cockpit terminé, avec le contreplaqué supérieur.

As you can see, the hand pump has been installed, and you can see the final fuel pipes. Last thing will be mounting the Spandau machine-gun.
The first photos show the cockpit without the pilot's seat. The others show the completed cockpit with the top cover.

LVG : Avancement / Work in Progress

La décoration du LVG est enfin terminée ! Les dernières touches de peintures ont été ajoutées, en peignant notamment les noms "Eleÿnor" et "Mia" sur le nez de l'avion.
Comme vous pouvez le voir, le moteur est maintenant installé, et les tuyauteries d'essences, ainsi que les cables électriques sont en train d'être finalisés.
Le cockpit est presque complet désormais. Le panneau de gauche est monté de façon définitive.

The LVG paint scheme is finally complete. The last details were painted, especially by adding the "Eleÿnor" and "Mia" names on the nose.
As you can see, the engine is now installed, and the final fuel tubing and electrical wires are being connected.
The cockpit is almost complete now. The left panel is definitively installed.
