LVG : Ailes hautes / Top Wings

Les ailes hautes ont été assemblées l'une à l'autre pour un montage test. Comme vous pouvez le voir, l'aile droite est quasiment terminée. Avant de les entoiler, elles seront sans doute montées sur l'avion avec les ailes inférieures afin de préparer les câbles pour le haubanage.

The top wings have been mounted together for a test assembly. As you can see, the right top wing is nearly finished. Before covering those wings, they will probably be assembled on the aircraft with the lower ones, in order to prepare all the cables for rigging.

Meilleurs voeux 2012 / Season's Greetings 2012

Voici un court message, afin de vous présenter nos meilleurs voeux pour cette année 2012.

Just a quick post to wish you a happy New Year for 2012.
This card shows our Sopwith 1B2 Strutter drawn by Romain Hugault. This picture was created for his new comic book series : "Le Pilote à l'Edelweiss". The first part will be released tomorrow in France.

It is time to unveil the Be2f reproduction that is currently being worked on by Memorial Flight. The new page has just been published on our website.

Sop 1B2 : Assemblage final / Final assembly

Voici une photo vous montrant le Sop 1B2 Strutter complètement assemblé. Quelques travaux mineurs de peinture restent à faire, et l'avion partira très bientôt à la Ferté-Alais...
Pour ceux qui pourraient s'interroger sur l'authenticité du camouflage, vous pouvez voir une photo d'époque montrant deux avions de la Sop66 portant une livrée similaire.

Here is a picture showing the Sop 1B2 Strutter completely assembled. Some minor paint work are yet to be done, and the aircraft will go to the airfield very soon...
For those who might wonder about the authenticity of the camouflage, you can see an original picture showing two of the Sop66 aircrafts with a similar camo.

As you know, our workshop was opened to the public on the weekend of October the 22nd and 23rd. We were extremely happy to welcome so many people, and to see how interested in our work the public is. It is always a great pleasure to answer your questions, and show our restorations.

Dassault Flamant n°282 : Retour aux origines / Back to its origins

Notre Dassault MD311 Flamant n°282 est de retour dans son lieu d'origine, où il fut construit et assemblé en 1953. Dassault Aviation a choisi notre appareil afin de l'exposer définitivement devant l'atelier principal de l'usine de Dassault Aviation à Bordeaux, où sont désormais assemblés les Rafale. Après une restauration menée par un groupe d'employés volontaires du site de Bordeaux, l'avion a été repeint dans une de ses premières livrées, qu'il a porté alors qu'il volait à Avord pour l'entrainement de navigateurs et bombardiers au sein l'Armée de l'Air.
L'avion a été officiellement inauguré le 24 septembre et repose désormais sur son socle, avec un léger angle de roulis et d'incidence. Les lumières de l'avion sont également fonctionnelles et allumées la nuit pour une représentation très vivante.

Our Dassault MD311 Flamant n°282, has now found its way back to where it was built and assembled in 1953. Dassault Aviation chose this aircraft in order to display it as a gate keeper in front of the main building of the Dassault Aviation factory of Bordeaux, where are now assembled the Rafale fighters.
After a restoration by a volunteering group of employees from the Bordeaux factory, the aircraft was painted with one of its first paint scheme, when it was flying at Avord in order to train navigators and bomb operators of the French air force.
The aircraft was officially presented to the public on September 24th, and is now standing with a slight bank angle, and incidence. The lights of the aircraft are also working at night for a great display.
